THE PROCESS

Booking a wedding cake is so much more than just choosing your design and flavours, although the latter is rather fun! It's about working alongside and putting your trust in someone to create a work of art that represents you both as a couple, and that compliments your wedding day perfectly, as well as tasting exceptional.

From the moment you catch a glimpse of one of my cakes right up until your cake is sat pride of place at the venue, I endeavour to help you throughout the whole process ensuring you can well...have your cake and then eat it!

Take a look below at the step by step process of how things work when you enquire about your wedding cake with me.

HOW IT WORKS

As soon as you have booked your venue it is best to get in touch to check my availability. Dates can book up quickly, especially popular ones such as bank holidays, and as it is just myself running the show, I do limit the number of cakes I make each week to ensure I can give each one the love and attention it deserves.

If you like my work and know you would like to book me to make your wedding cake, then you can secure your date with a non-refundable deposit of £100 and we can finalise the design of your wedding cake at a later date. Otherwise, have a little read of the steps below on how the process usually works.

STEP ONE

If you haven't done so already, pop over an enquiry via the form to check if your date is available. It will ask you some details about your day including what your ideas and inspirations are for your wedding cake. You might have a clear idea of what you want or be inspired by one of my previous designs. Or if at this stage you're still not sure, don't worry as I can help with the design. Any ideas at this point will help me to work out a rough quote based on the information you have provided.

STEP TWO

Once you have secured your date with a deposit you can relax! The next bit is the fun part. I will be in touch to arrange an online chat/video appointment, which usually take place between the October and March before you're due to wed, to discuss the final design of your cake. Your ideas and visions can change during the planning of your wedding so it is best to have your colours, flowers and decor/style sorted before deciding on the design of your cake.

I will also be in touch to organise tasters with you - believe me when I say this is the hardest decision you'll have to make. I offer these at selected times throughout the year to avoid the busy summer months and to allow you plenty time to make a decision. There is a £35 fee per box, plus next day delivery postage, and you get the choice of six flavours to try from my menu.

STEP THREE

Once we have the design finalised, I'll begin working on a digital sketch based on everything we discussed to help you visualise your wedding cake along with a more accurate price. Don't worry if things aren't quite right, I can tweak your chosen design until the details are exactly as
you want them.

Lastly, we can start thinking about the set up for your cake. How you style your cake is just as important as the cake itself and i have a range of different stands, plinths and other props available to hire. I will also work alongside your stylist to ensure your cake is the centrepiece of your reception.

STEP FOUR

Now the countdown to seeing your cake in real life and enjoying them delicious flavours is on! Between now and the big day, I will be doing lots of things behind the scenes such as liaising with your florist, stylist and venue and putting things in place for the making of your wedding cake.

A month prior to your wedding date I will be in touch to run through all the details to confirm the design, flavours, timings and everything else is correct. This is also when your remaining balance is due.

After that all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your wedding day...oh and a slice of cake!
